Austin Winter

Senior Associate of Intellectual Property & Licensing, The Research Foundation for SUNY

Austin Winter plays a key role in protecting and commercializing innovations across SUNY’s physical and computer sciences portfolio, which includes technologies in electrical and computer hardware/software, nanotechnology, semiconductors, and medical devices. A USPTO-registered Patent Agent and Certified Licensing Professional, Austin’s expertise spans a broad range of intellectual property areas, including patents, copyrights, trade secrets, mask works, and know-how.

Austin joined the Research Foundation in 2021. He holds a bachelor’s degree in physics and a master’s degree in engineering and management systems. Beyond his work with SUNY innovators, Austin is an active member of the Association of University Technology Managers and the Licensing Executives Society. He is committed to supporting the next generation of innovators, frequently volunteering at local business plan competitions and startup mentorship programs.

Kim Swanson

Kim Swanson joined Dennemeyer in 2021 and has been active in the intellectual property (IP) field since 2002.

Before joining Dennemeyer, she held senior leadership roles with several global IP service providers, serving as Director – North America and Global Channel Director. Over the course of her career, Kim has consistently driven commercial success through strategic sales initiatives, revenue retention, key partnerships, and growth planning.

Areas of expertise: commercial contracts, patents, IP strategy, portfolio management, technology commercialization, risk management, sales, key account management, negotiations, project management, as well as mentoring and coaching.
